Once a litter or cat reaches twelve moons, a Star Ceremony is held. Star Ceremonies include these traditions:
> "Dancing With the Moon" -- a dance that mimics the cycles of the moon
> "Dancing With the Stars" -- a dance that mimics Silverpelt's shape and the constellations
> "The Becoming" -- the ceremonial act that connects the twelve-moon, or "newmoon" to Starclan. The newmoons are dressed in basil, then flowers of their choice. Next, chains of amethyst, moonstone and one other stone- the eldest sibling's choice -are draped over the newmoons, accompanied by a veil. A statement and prayer is made to Starclan, then the clan leader, draped in silk veil and cape, blesses the newmoons one by one.
